My
name is Ryan Barber (nickname ROO), I am originally from New Orleans, LA and
now live in Colorado. I was an evacuee of Hurricane Katrina and definitely felt
the negative aspects of climate change (to say the least). I am excited about getting to blog about the
country of Canada, as a NewOrleanian; we hold a deep respect for our Canadian
brothers and sisters (it's a "French connection" ;). This country was given to me by the professor
as our Blog assignment in class. One interesting fact I know about Canada is
that the Canadian troops traveled all the way to uptown New Orleans from Canada
ON HORSEBACK and made it the second day after the storm left! While our government stated they couldn't
make it for FIVE days, even though the U.S. had access to fighter jets, hmmmmm. Not to bring up an old,
but sensitive subject; however, you can only imagine how real it was to me and
my family.
This
is my first "professional" blog, and I am looking forward to learning
more and contributing to an educational environment!
All
the best class and have a great summer!!
Hopefully
our lack of an extremely weak Ozone layer won't melt us all away this summer
..j/k ;))
Ryan
